WARNING: Spoilers ahead for X-Lives of Wolverine #2!
The new Destiny of X era has begun for the X-Men at Marvel Comics, with their ongoing X-Lives/X-Deaths of Wolverine currently being released on a weekly schedule, providing readers with a brutally violent adventure through Logan's blurry and regrettable past. Omega Red, a terrifying vampiric mutant from Russia, recently «joined» the X-Men after they viciously killed him, and resurrected him without him ever knowing, implanting him with a surveillance device in the «carbonadium synthesizer» that keeps Arkady alive. In X-Lives of Wolverine #2 it is shown that Mikhail Rasputin, Colossus and Magik's evil uncle, has removed the surveillance device from Omega Red's body and turned him against Krakoa. Somehow, Arkady has now found a way to travel back through time and possess key people in Wolverine and Xavier's life, leading to Xavier and Jean Grey forcing Wolverine to live back through his worst traumas to save Charles at every turn.
