One of the writers of Marvel's Wolverine hasrevealed that she showed The Last of Us to her family to help them understand the gaming medium. The Last of Us and its 2020 sequel, The Last of Us Part 2, have been highly praised for their writing, despite the latter being a controversial release due to its story content. Insomniac looks to be taking a more mature approach to Marvel's Wolverine, so the studio's high-quality writing looks like it will continue in its upcoming title. Given the game is still years away, it's not clear whether or not it will embrace an M-rating like X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but fans are rooting for the developer to go as hardcore as possible with the character. Although an M-rating may just be due to extreme violence, Wolverine is known for being a rich and dark character due to his immortality, powers, and personality.
