CD Projekt Red has announced that the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been officially delayed until the end of 2022. The open-world fantasy epic first released in 2015, with many gamers considering the monster hunter simulator to be one of the greatest games of all time. While a Witcher 3 next-gen update was originally intended for release earlier in 2022, the shiny new version of Geralt's final adventure will arrive later than expected.
As the third installment in the fantasy role-playing trilogy, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt takes players on an epic open-world journey across the vast Continent. The title's main storyline follows Geralt on a quest to find his adopted daughter Ciri, but along the way players are also faced with a wide range of in-depth side missions and optional activities. A robust combat system lets players use swords, magic Signs, potions and poisons to cleverly exploit the weaknesses of both human and inhuman foes. Despite launching back in 2015 fans have recently accused CD Projekt Red of favoring Witcher 3 over Cyberpunk 2077, with the developer renewing focus on the fantasy series following the sci-fi title's disastrous launch.
