WWE fans know that John Cena will return to Monday Night Raw on June 27th, but what is less clear is what the 16-time World Champion will be doing on the show. That'll be the draw in the coming weeks as audiences gear up to celebrate Cena's 20 years with the company. He's been busy with projects such as Peacemaker lately, but he's never been shy about his love for professional wrestling.
That could possibly leave the door open for a match featuring Cena, perhaps as early as the Raw episode that is set to air from Texas. It'd likely make more sense for WWE to plant the seeds for a possible fight featuring The Face That Runs The Place a bit further down the line, however. He was last seen in a wrestling ring during SummerSlam in 2021 when he failed to take down Roman Reigns. A rematch between those two seems unlikely, especially if Cena's posts on social media are to be believed.

He also stated that the current United States Champion was his favorite person on the roster at the moment. Big Match John even posted a photo from when Kevin Owens answered his US Open Challenge back in 2015 on his Instagram, adding even more fuel to the speculated bout between Cena and Theory. Theory also played his part, responding to Cena on Twitter, telling him to "Stop playing dress up and do something then."
Vince McMahon has a handful of steadfast rules he asks WWE superstars to play by. One of the biggest ones is to never tease a match that can't happen or isn't happening. Cena, of all people, knows this, as does Theory.
