The God of War franchise is known for its thrilling boss fights. Kratos fought and won against several Greek gods in the original series of games, with 2018’s God of War featuring fights against gods from Norse mythology. This latest entry marked a new beginning for the series but retained the emphasis on over-the-top boss fights.
In January of this year, God of War came out on PC and reportedly sold 971k copies as of March 2022. Many praised Sony for releasing a relatively good port, especially when considering Horizon Zero Dawn’s performance issues on PC. The modding community has since released several mods for the PC version, with a new one featuring Kratos fighting Master Chief in an epic encounter between two industry icons.
God of War Mod Adds Simpsons Characters to the Game
The mod replaces Baldur’s model with that of Master Chief in the first major boss fight of God of War. The video shows a big chunk of the battle but omits the opening and climactic scenes. It’s hilarious to see Master Chief acting and talking like Baldur throughout the video and utilizing his moves from the game. As this is a straight model swap, the battle doesn’t match with Master Chief’s fighting style, although not many are likely to survive in a fistfight against Kratos.
The original fight occurs during the opening hours of God of War and serves as a great way to introduce players to this fresh take on the series. It’s also an excellent showcase of how the single-take camera style can enhance boss fights in the game. Baldur acts as the main antagonist of God of War, and players encounter him multiple times throughout the story. The first fight is especially memorable because the user is unaware of his identity.
