Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out on the May 16th episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, and based on recent reports; it sounds like their respective situations could get worse before improving in any way. The duo were booked in the main event of that show but packed their bags and left after not agreeing with creative for the bout. Online, the pair has received a lot of support from former wrestlers and independent stars, but backstage in WWE, it is apparently quite the opposite.
During WWE Friday Night SmackDown, it was announced that Naomi and Banks had been stripped of the tag-team titles and that there would be a tournament to determine new champions. Announcer Michael Cole, in what was likely a prepared statement from Vince McMahon, took the duo to task during the SmackDown broadcast, saying that "their actions disappointed millions of WWE fans, and their fellow superstars." It's known that both Naomi and Banks had contracts that were set to expire soon, so their indefinite suspension could potentially freeze those deals for the time being.

Fans have been wondering how the walkout was viewed by those in backstage positions in WWE, and the WrestleVotes Twitter account recently shed some light on that, writing the following: «I gather this Sasha / Naomi situation is going to get worse before it gets any better. While the majority of the support online is in their favor, its [sic] quite the opposite with management.»
