Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 3 features the long-awaited reunion between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan, but why is Kenobi so afraid of the Sith Lord after besting Anakin years prior? The series has promised a rematch between the Jedi and his former apprentice, with their brief scuffle in Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 3 providing a tease at what is to come in the last 3 episodes. However, this was more of a chase than a rematch, with Kenobi's fear getting the better of him.
Beginning where episode 2 left off, Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 3 sees Kenobi reeling from the news that Anakin Skywalker is still alive. Vader, upon learning Kenobi has been driven out of hiding by Reva and the other Inquisitors, personally travels to Mapuzo in order to exact his vengeance on his former master. This leads to a brief conflict between the two, with Obi-Wan's fear potentially coming as a surprise due to his victory over Anakin in Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith.

In Revenge of the Sith, Kenobi and Anakin engaged in what is arguably the best lightsaber duel in the Star Wars universe. The fight takes the duo from the landing pad on Mustafar, through the mining facility, and onto the banks of the rivers of lava. Eventually, Kenobi gets the best of Anakin and leaves him for dead in a climactic scene. However, in Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 3, Kenobi spends most of his time trying to evade Vader despite this earlier victory, signaling his intense fear at once again meeting his former padawan.
