But what needs to be noted is that these features are available only on iOS 10.3 and later. For people who have not yet downloaded and installed WhatsApp on their iPhone can do so from the App Store. "Siri is a personal assistant built into iOS. You can ask Siri to send WhatsApp messages, place WhatsApp calls, or read aloud your unread WhatsApp messages. Note: These features are only available on iOS 10.3 and later," WhatsApp said.
Also, as per the information provided by the messaging application on its FAQ page, opening WhatsApp with unread messages will reset the notification badge. Siri will then interpret this as if there were no unread messages and therefore will not read them aloud.
