Destiny 2's Season of the Haunted is coming to an end one month from now, but players are now enjoying the newly reworked Solstice event for the remainder of the Season. The storyline of Season 17 explored the themes of trauma and healing for characters new and old, with centerpieces being Zavala, Caiatl, and Crow, each facing their Nightmare on the Leviathan in the wake of Calus' ascension as The Witness' new herald. This week, Bungie announced that at the end of Season of the Haunted and prior to the beginning of Season 18, the company will hold a special Destiny 2 showcase.
The topic of this showcase is clear: a teaser of the Lightfall expansion, and likely the themes of Season 18. Destiny 2's Light and Darkness saga is coming to an end, but Bungie seemingly has plans for the franchise that go way beyond it, with years of content possibly planned ahead. Because nothing official is currently known about Lightfall, the upcoming showcase is going to be an interesting one, and if the showcase held last year for the reveal of The Witch Queen is something to go by, then players will have plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
