Warning: Spoilers for Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 below!
The wait is almost over for Stranger Things season 4, Volume 2. Taking place just eight months after the events of the third season, Stranger Things season 4 Volume 1 brought seven episodes of mystery, grief, and horror to the fictional cursed town of Hawkins, Indiana. Yet another monster – this time called Vecna – escaped the Upside Down and committed murders more disturbing than anything the Duffer brothers' celebrated Netflix show has done before. Containing ample dread and suspense, it's no surprise that viewers spent 287 million hours streaming Volume 1 in its first week, making it Netflix's biggest-ever premiere weekend for an English-language series.
As usual, Hawkins is riddled with evil, and it's up to a group of brave teenagers to save the day. Stranger Things season 4 sees Max and her friends investigate Vecna's origins as she struggles with being next on his list. Eleven puts her trust in Dr. Sam Owens in the hope of restoring her powers and becoming the hero needed to defeat Vecna. Joyce and Murray chase a lead to Alaska, hoping that Hopper may be alive. So far, from new characters like fan-favorite Eddie Munson to birthing the unexpected contemporary resurgence of the 80's song «Running Up That Hill» by Kate Bush, Stranger Things season 4 has been anything but lackluster.
