Ariela was a 29-year-old freelance writer working at her dad’s clinic in Princeton when she became a part of the TLC family. She was pregnant and moving to Ethiopia to be with Biniyam, 30, whom she’d met while hailing a taxi. Biniyam from 90DF was married in the past, but his American ex-wife left him, and took their first son with him. Biniyam often wondered if Ariela would do the same. His biggest fears did come true amid their arguments about religion and money on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3 introduced Ariela’s ex-husband Leandro Fosque, to whom she was married to for 10 years before meeting Biniyam. In fact, Ariela only divorced Leandro after she became pregnant with Aviel. While they split, Ariela and Leandro remained close friends, which worried Biniyam. Deciding to fly back to America for Aviel’s emergency surgery, she chose to keep living in America because she felt that Biniyam was cheating on her behind her back. Her solution was to test his faithfulness by bringing Biniyam to the US, which he kept a secret from his own family. Ariela burned bridges with Biniyam’s sisters and saw that he was still hiding things, such as practicing with a female athlete while he trained for his MMA match. Leandro came back into the picture, and Ariela dealt with a pregnancy scare.
