Moriah and Micah Plath were kicked out of their family home on Welcome To Plathville season 2 for rebelling against their parents. Moriah wore makeup and revealing clothes, while Micah wanted to pursue modeling rather than working on their farm. During Welcome To Plathville season 3, Micah and Moriah had a heart-to-heart with their parents about wishing they were raised with more freedom. They also shared how their homeschooling left them without high school degrees and asked that Kim and Barry treat the younger kids better. This seemed to be a turning point for the parents, as they loosened up on some of the rules after this conversation.

Kim and Barry started building a better relationship with Moriah on Welcome To Plathville, even when she dyed her hair and got tattoos, which they were previously against. Kim even shocked Moriah by saying she supported her music career, even though she performs secular music. She also said that would come see Moriah's shows, even if they were in bars. Kim backed her relationship with now ex-boyfriend, Max Kallschmidt, even when the pair showed physical affection at the dinner table in front of her younger siblings.
