Riot Games revealed VALORANT’s newest agent, Fade, confirming that the cinematic and official gameplay trailer will drop soon. VALORANT is Riot Games’s first foray into the shooter genre, blending CS:GO’s competitive FPS gameplay with characters equipped with unique tactical abilities, much like League of Legends. The list of characters is one of the things that make the FPS unique, though creating VALORANT’s agents and differentiating their personalities has been one of the major challenges for the developers.
VALORANT currently has eighteen agents in each of four different categories. Duelists, Initiators, Controllers, and Sentinels have a variety of abilities that change the nature of each match, adding strategic levels to Riot’s competitive FPS. Neon was a fast-paced Duelist with the ability to increase their speed and fire a lightning beam with high movement accuracy. Before Neon, VALORANT released Chamber, a dripped out teleporting Sentinel that summons powerful weapons to their aid.
