Weird West puts an interesting spin on western gun-slinging cowboy games by letting players choose how to build their characters' arsenal of abilities. The isometric RPG style is very reminiscent of games like Hades and Death's Door but this game has a much slower pace with an interesting story. There are a total of five characters that can be played in Weird West however it is mandatory to start with the Bounty Hunter as she is the equivalent of the tutorial character to help players get accustomed to the gameplay.
Even though the Bounty Hunter in Weird West is a starter character it is still possible to build her and cater to specific players' playstyles because the Bounty Hunter is a standard all-around character. The hunter has the capabilities of being up close and personal in combat similar to the Pigman in Weird West but she also has weapons that are great for long-range combat like the bow and especially the rifles. On top of that, there are ways to grant perks during the playthrough that help on a larger scale and ways to gain specific abilities for equipped weapons and character-specific abilities too.

In order to level up and gain all these bonuses is not as simple as battling the toughest enemies and gaining experience points. Learning new abilities in Weird West is handled by collectibles called Nimp Relics and Golden Ace of Spades which can be found throughout the world in many different nooks and crannies.
