Webzen, the studio behind blockbuster RPGs like MU Online and R2, has just announced a deal to publish a mysterious new idle RPG from developer Crimoons.
Tentatively named Project F, the game will take place in a world torn apart by a conflict involving several fantasy races and the fallen gods.
It will boast plenty of social features, including co-op gameplay. Webzen and Crimoons are hoping this will set it apart from other idle RPGs on mobile.
And that’s pretty much all we know about Project F, which probably won’t even have that name when it eventually comes to market.
But we do know that Webzen and Crimoons are targeting the global market. That means the Americas, Europe, Southeast Asia, South Korea, and many other regions besides.
While Webzen is already a global force, Crimoons is relatively little-known outside China. It has however produced a slick-looking idle-RPG called The Fourth Age.
On the basis of that game, Webzen clearly believes the studio can come up with the goods on Project F.
This is one of several publishing and investment contracts Webzen has signed in recent months. It’s working on several other unannounced projects too.
Having found success with MU Origins and its sequels and spin-offs, Webzen is apparently aiming to beef up its publishing arm in 2022, forging relationships with promising start-ups and smaller developers.
The studio has even created a whole new department for this purpose. Named Unicorn TF, this exclusive team provides developers with support and consulting services across finance, management, recruitment, game design, and so on.
If you’re a developer looking to take advantage of what Unicorn TF has to offer, you can get in touch by emailing the team at
