Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep are extremely popular maps in Call of Duty: Warzone. They are both much smaller in size compared to Caldera and guarantee a lot of action and engagements. They also allow for respawning, so you can get right back to the battlefield after death. Since we’re in the final season of Warzone, players have been looking ahead to more info on Warzone 2. A recent leak has provided just that, suggesting that Warzone 2 will have a Resurgence style map, but fans of the mode may be disappointed with the potential release date.
According to the prominent Call of Duty leaker, TheGhostOfHope, Infinity Ward plans to release a Resurgence style map midway through 2023. As a result, it’s likely that players will only be able to play the main battle royale map and mode when Warzone 2 launches. In addition, the leak claims that an entirely new battle royale map could make its debut late in 2023.
With Caldera getting a mixed response at launch, Infinity Ward will need a successful first map to get the next installment of the battle royale off to a strong start. This is especially true if a Resurgence style map will be missing at launch, as it’s these maps that have managed to keep players captivated in the current Warzone.
As is always the case, take leaks with a pinch of salt. Even if Infinity Ward is planning to release a Warzone 2 Resurgence style map and another map at the latter end of next year, the schedule could change.
A Call of Duty Next event is taking place on September 15 which will tell us more about Warzone 2. At the same time, we will learn more about Modern Warfare 2 and get a first look at some gameplay.
