There was a time when they were simply five proto-dragons of various colors who united to beat back a dangerous foe. This foe came in the form of a massive proto-dragon named Galakrond that was said to be the progenitor of dragonkind. He was once an ally to the others, but something happened that changed him into a destructive force that had to be stopped. The events of his downfall have only been talked about in a novel, but his story may make an appearance in the upcoming expansion.

Galakrond was once a benevolent massive proto-dragon that would hunt alongside his fellow proto-dragons, but something happened that made him suddenly become antagonistic. It is unknown just what went wrong with Galakrond, but it is believed that his downfall was due to Watcher Tyr's actions. He went on to devour his fellow proto-dragons, but they would not simply die.
