Gaijin Entertainment has launched an open beta for War Thunder Mobile on Android devices, with iOS release planned in the future.
War Thunder Mobile’s release was originally announced last fall under the working title of War Thunder Edge. The open beta is accessible via the official site via an APK that players can side load onto their Android devices. There are no plans for a wipe or a reset, so if you join the open beta, you can expect to keep your progress, including all of your unlocked vehicles, once the game officially launches.
For a mobile title, the team's mission was to bring over the biggest parts of War Thunder and tailor them for an on the go experience. At the core are still the large-scale co-op battles and of course, a ton of vehicles to collect and use to form the best strategies you can. in announcing War Thunder Mobile, they note that you can expect the same level of detail and historically accurate vehicles that are made according to real specifications. So of course this brings a similar level of strategic planning, in a package that is tailored for mobile controls and intuitive gameplay.
If you’re a War Thunder veteran, then there’s a lot that will seem familiar, but new players can also hop in and get a taste of the action. The progression system is created for the mobile version and is designed to let players try out equipment from different countries and eras.
Right now, the beta is only available via the official APK file, but when the final launch is ready, the game will be available via the GooglePlay store and for iOS on the App Store.
