Wacom today launched the Cintiq Pro 27 graphics tablet, offering a 27-inch digital canvas in a footprint smaller than the Cintiq Pro 24.
The Pro 27 has had just about every feature you can think of upgraded. That includes a faster screen refresh rate, improved multi-touch, more accurate colors, and a better pen experience. It can also be paired with the Wacom Cintiq Pro 27 Stand (sold separately) or attached to an arm using a VESA 100 mounting for ease of use.
The 16:9 display offers a 2160p Ultra HD resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 10ms typical response time. It supports 1.07 billion colors (10-bit color depth, 99% Adobe RGB, and 98% DCI-P3), and is Pantone and Pantone SkinTone validated. Wacom also integrated two sets of four grip-style ExpressKeys on the back sides of the device for your most regularly used keyboard shortcuts.
The included Pro Pen 3 also brings with it a number of improvements including the ability to customize the weight, grip thickness, pen buttons, and center of balance using the bundled interchangeable components. It supports enhanced tilt recognition and has 8,192 levels of pressure recognition without need of a battery. Three side switches on the pen can be programmed with your desired functionality.
Wacom ensured the Cintiq Pro 27 is compatible with all the applications creative professional rely on, including software from Adobe, Autodesk, Corel, Pixologic, and Foundry. The graphics tablet includes a free three-month trial for Celsys Clip Studio Paint EX, cloud file-sharing service MASV, CAD tool Shapr3D, and visual collaboration tool Bluescape. There is also a 90-day trial for 2D animation app Toon Boom's Harmony and the company's storyboard app Storyboard Pro.
