Originally released in 2010, Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption was the studio's take on a Wild West story, with gorgeous visuals at the time and strong writing from Dan Houser and the rest of the team. While the sequel has gone down as one of the most immersive open worlds in video game history, its predecessor is still a beloved entry, currently sitting pretty at 95 for PS3 and Xbox 360 on Metacritic. Despite being 12 years old now, the original game has aged quite well, but some wonder what it would look like with even better graphics.
In a recent clip uploaded to Reddit, user Illustrious_Affect65 has shown what Red Dead Redemption looks like in 4K resolution. Although brief, it shows a much crisper look to the American countryside at the turn of the 20th century. Those who have played the game on the PS3 and Xbox 360 will still recall that, even now, it looks fantastic. And while visuals aren't everything, it shows what an official remaster could look like, were one to surface.

In fact, that might not be too left of field to imagine. A rumor suggests that next gen remasters of Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 could be in development. It's been alleged that both entries in the series have been in the works since 2020. While there's no sign of GTA 6 and the world is currently beign swamped with remakes and remasters, it wouldn't be too surprising for Rockstar to bring the 2010 Western game back, even after the huge letdown that was the GTA Trilogy remaster.
