For long-time fans of the Valkyrie Profile series, Square Enix’s upcoming action RPG Valkyrie Elysium seems to be arriving at the perfect time. The title has been in the peripherals of the series’ fanbase and community due to Valkyrie Elysium trademarks being filed as early as February 2022. Now, Square Enix has released an announcement detailing the launch dates per platform for Valkyrie Elysium.
Hardcore fans are likely of the mind that it is about time that Square Enix puts its focus on the Valkyrie series. The last game released was Valkyrie Anatomia, a mobile role-playing game on Android and IOS devices that was first launched in Japan in 2016 then worldwide in 2019. Unfortunately, the title’s mobile services were shut down in 2021, likely disappointing Valkyrie Profile fans and making them feel the lack of the series’ presence in today’s gaming scene.
Valkyrie Profile Series Announces New Game Valkyrie Elysium
To officially announce the release date of Valkyrie Elysium, Square Enix unveiled a new trailer video on its official YouTube channel. According to the video’s description box, the game will be released on consoles first. This means PlayStation 4 and 5 owners will get first dibs on Valkyrie Elysium this September 29, 2022, while Steam users will be able to play the game by November 12, 2022. With the very first Valkyrie Profile title being released exclusively on the original PlayStation console, it is not surprising for Square Enix to go back to its roots and have Valkyrie Elysium exclusive for PlayStation even if it is just for a short amount of time.
