After spending some time making equipment out of Copper, V Rising players may become interested in incorporating Iron into their crafting. Indeed, Iron is a very useful material, which can be fashioned into weapons and beyond, though the way to obtain it may not be immediately obvious. Fortunately, getting Iron in V Rising is a fairly straightforward process, provided that the player is equipped with the requisite equipment.
The first step toward obtaining Iron is to craft any of the Merciless Copper weapons in the game. These weapons are slightly more powerful than their Copper equivalents, and survival game fans will get recipes for them as random drops. Alternatively, a player can take a more proactive approach to acquiring a Merciless Copper weapon recipes by feeding Paper into their castle's Study.
V Rising: How to Salvage
With a Merciless Copper weapon in hand, players must now set their sights on locating veins of Iron. These veins can be found in the Dunley Farmlands to the north of the Farbane Woods, and the Haunted Iron Mines in particular are a great place to target. The precise position of the Haunted Iron Mines has been marked on the map that is below, and indeed they are situated on the southern border of the Farmlands.
Once a player has located a suitable vein, they should hit it with their Merciless Copper weapon to extract Iron Ore. Fans can then smelt this V Rising material into Iron Ingots in their Furnaces, provided that they have unlocked the recipe that allows for that transmutation to be performed. For full clarity, the Iron Ingot recipe is earned by defeating Quincey the Bandit King, a Level 37 boss who can be tracked through the Blood Altar.
