The creator of Evil reveals that an upcoming season 3 episode was inspired by TikTok. The supernatural drama series premiered back in 2019 on CBS before eventually moving to Paramount+. It follows Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers), a forensic psychologist who, despite her skepticism, partners with a Catholic seminarian (Mike Colter) and a technology contractor (Aasif Mandvi) to investigate cases of paranormal phenomena. The show's third season debuted in June to critical acclaim and has continued to provide viewers with a consistently unnerving atmosphere and shocking twists. As fans anticipate new episodes, creators Robert and Michelle King teased what they can expect, saying this season of Evil will be as terrifying as ever.
Michelle King told TV Line that one episode in season 3 is "sort of inspired by TikTok." When asked about what the most frightening episode this season is, she explained that «sometimes it’s not as easy to know which ones are going to be the scariest when you’re making them because the visual effects aren’t in place yet,» and that, "once it’s on the screen, it has more impact." It was noted, however, that the new episode, titled «The Demon of Algorithms,» based on the popular app, is as unsettling as they come.
