An enormous part of the appeal when it comes to retro remasters or compilations like Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered is earning spangly new Trophies in classic games. Developer Aspyr appears to understand this, as it’s plotting almost 300 Trophies across the upcoming trilogy, according to lists published by Insider Gaming.
However, there’s a catch! While the PS4 version of the game will include three shiny Platinum pots to unlock, there’ll be zero silvery-blue gongs on PS5. This, allegedly, is due to some policy changes enforced by PlayStation which prevent multi-game lists from featuring Platinums, as previously evidenced by Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
We’ll check with Aspyr to see if this is true, but if it is, then we think Sony’s shooting itself in the foot here. If this is accurate, then we’d actually recommend buying the PS4 version and playing with backwards compatibility, as performance is unlikely to be massively affected given the nature of the games.
The Trophy lists themselves are awesome, and filled with Easter eggs, as you’d expect with so many gongs to unlock. You’ll need to beat the games in record times to get all the trinkets, and find all the collectibles, of course. To be honest, these are fun adventures to 100 per cent – but the PS5 versions will lack that added incentive if its true they don’t have Platinum pots.

PS4 version it is I guess.
Yeah, I think I'll go PS4 as well if true. Such a terrible change by Sony, though — they surely know people buy games for Trophies as they'll have data for that!
In fact, they've even made
