, the story-driven 3D brawler/platformer based on Paramount Pictures’ movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, has gotten a new gameplay trailer that confirmed the game’s release date. The game will be released later this year on PC and consoles.
A Heartful of Games and Outright Games have confirmed the game will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 18, 2024. Digital preorders and wishlists are due to go live for all platforms soon. As well as the digital versions, TMNT: Mutants Unleashed will also have a special Walmart Edition, a physical Deluxe Edition, and a Collector’s Edition, all of which can be pre-ordered right now.
Mutants Unleashed pits Leonardo (Nicolas Cantu), Raphael (Brady Noon), Donatello (Micah Abbey), and Michelangelo (Shamon Brown Jr.) against new mutants causing chaos in the streets of NYC. The new storyline follows the events of the movie as the titular brothers and familiar characters like Master Splinter and April try to thwart the enemies that threaten their dream of being able to attend a regular high school. Of course, Bebop and Rocksteady are also around to throw a spanner in the works alongside the boxing hornets, bucket-wielding hermit crabs, and wrestling rhinoceros.
Players can take on the campaign solo or co-op for up to two players. Each of the turtles has their own abilities that can be upgraded with combat XP through the skill tree. Combat isn’t the only focus, though, as players will need to avoid the city’s curfew by skating through the streets and grinding on rails and zip lines. Leveling up friendships with allies will also unlock new locations with plenty of collectibles to find.
