There's little doubt that in the Marvel Universe, Thor is one of the strongest heroes, but it has recently been revealed who Thor himself thinks is the strongest.
Previously in the Marvel Universe, the mighty Thor was deemed unworthy of wielding his hammer Mjolnir. Instead, the weapon was picked up by Jane Foster, and she was transformed into a female version of the character. Recently, Jane has given up the hammer and instead became a Valkyrie of Asgard while Thor himself has reclaimed the hammer, which is now imbued with the spirit of his dead father Odin. Thor has also become the new king of Asgard in the process.

In Jane Foster and The Mighty Thor #1 by Torunn Gronbekk and Michael Dowling, Mjolnir crashes into Jane's apartment and Thor is nowhere to be seen. She waits for it to be recalled by Thor, but it never moves. That means that Thor is in trouble. She picks up the hammer and Odin speaks to her through it, telling her that Thor has sent the hammer to her before getting captured. The hammer is a message that he is in trouble and needs help. The reason he sends it to Jane was because she is the only hero he trusts to save him.
The fact that Thor sent his hammer to Jane and not anybody else is a huge statement. Thor knows that Jane Foster can transform into her own version of Thor with the hammer and yet sent it to her anyway. This is a clear message that Thor doesn't feel challenged or threatened by the Goddess of Thunder. In fact, it's actually the exact opposite.
