A modder has turned their iPhone 13 Pro Max into a one-of-a-kind device featuring elements that users would love. Apple's smartphones and computers remain popular worldwide, even though the company is often criticized for not using standard ports and connectors on its devices. However, modders are now taking matters into their own hands and adding much-wanted features to these devices by themselves.
Late last year, a Swiss YouTuber named Ken Pillonel added a USB-C port to an iPhone X after getting tired of waiting for Apple to make the switch to USB-C from Lightning. Described as the world's first USB-C iPhone, the device was infused with a USB-C port at the bottom, where the Lightning port usually is. According to Pillonel, the USB-C port doesn't only charge the iPhone. It also supports data transfer. The phone was later put on sale on eBay, where people were reportedly willing to pay up to $90,000 to get their hands on it.

In a series of videos posted on Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok) and Weibo, DIY enthusiast Yang Changshun explained how he modified a standard iPhone 13 Pro Max with several new hardware features not offered by Apple. Changshun calls it the iPhone 13 Pro Max 'Ultra,' and it includes a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone socket, dual fans for better thermal dissipation, and a larger battery for enhanced battery life. He also added louder speakers to the device for good measure. However, Changshun had to attach another case on top of the metal frame to carry out all the changes, making the device twice as thick as a regular iPhone 13 Pro Max.
