The competition is fierce in the world of Android smartphones, all of them gunning for the top spot. The AnTuTu list is usually dominated by those gaming phones from Nubia or iQOO, that too the ones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. With the newer Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip phones now coming out, the AnTuTu list of the most powerful smartphones is seeing a change and it is Asus that takes the top spot. In fact, Asus dominates the list with both of its recently launched flagship phones.
The AnTuTu list for July 2022 now shows the Asus ROG Phone 6 sitting at the top spot with a score of 11,14,647, which gives it a commanding lead over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphones. Note that this tested unit has 18GB RAM and 512GB storage. The next one in line is the Asus ZenFone 9, which also uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. This one with its 16GB RAM and 256GB storage managed to score 10,89,919. These scores go on to show how faster and efficient the new chip is over the older one.
Other than these phones, the rest of the list is largely predictable. The majority of it is dominated by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagships, except for the Vivo X80 that used the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset.
Note that the ROG Phone 6 and Asus ZenFone 9 are yet to come to the Indian market. However, India has already gotten the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 toting iQOO 9T, which we have reviewed recently. The iQOO 9T with the same chip could end up in the top five once it visits the AnTuTu benchmark.
