Outerloop Games and Annapurna Interactive's Thirsty Suitors paints itself as a narrative-driven RPG starring protagonist Jala doing battle with a string of exes reminiscent of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. The game looks to combine a variety of different genres with turn-based combat, a cooking mini-game, and even skateboarding featured within the ambitious RPG. Now, Annapurna Interactive's 2022 showcase has shown off more of the unique RPG, as well as revealing the game will be coming to Xbox Game Pass.
Thirsty Suitors will be the second game to release from indie developer Outerloop Games, with the studio previously developing and self-publishing adventure game Falcon Age. Thirsty Suitors was first revealed during the 2021 Game Awards with Outerloop partnering with Outer Wilds and Stray publisher Annapurna Interactive. Thirsty Suitors' initial reveal trailer had only confirmed its eventual release would be coming to Steam with no other platforms officially revealed. Now, a new trailer during the Annapurna showcase has revealed more about the game, as well as its launch platforms.

A new trailer shown during the showcase gave fans a closer look at Thirsty Suitors' gameplay, giving a deep dive into its combat system and story. The story follows Jala returning to her hometown, Timber Hills, «after a brutal break-up» as she attempts to reconnect with her family while being pursued by her scorned suitors. The game's combat features a turn-based system reminiscent of games like Personawith a taunt system that provides bonuses for using certain taunts on specific enemies. The trailer also gives a brief look at the skateboarding mechanics with a focus on building big combos.
