Let's start with something timely. Last night, Sony gifted us with the latest State of Play and one of the first announcements of the showcase was Exoprimal, a dinosaur-focused game from Capcom but perhaps not the one that everyone wanted. Dino Crisis who, right? Editor-in-chief Stacey Henley argues that Exoprimal looks less like the Dino Crisis that fans have been wanting for some time and instead looks like a dinosaur-themed version of Anthem. That's far from a compliment, but you probably knew that already.
Where were you when Cyberpunk 2077 killed hype? Features editor Eric Switzer puts his hype goggles on to reflect on how Cyberpunk 2077 managed to destroy hype, but how Elden Ring managed to rise from the ashes and bring it back again. Eric argues that we as an industry have never been as collectively disappointed in something as we were with Cyberpunk, but that Elden Ring has had almost the opposite effect with overwhelming positivity. Guess we owe the Tarnished a favour.
