The Witcherseason 3 officially starts production with a new set image showing stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allen and Anya Chalotra together. Cavill leads the cast of the Netflix series as Geralt of Rivia, the titular monster hunter as he travels through the medieval landscape known as the Continent on various jobs. In his travels, Geralt is introduced to Chalotra's Yennefer of Vengerberg, a quarter-elf sorceress who seeks to become one of the most powerful mages in the world and falls in love with The Witcher. Geralt also learns of his interlinked destiny with Cirilla «Ciri» Fiona Elen Riannon, the crown princess of Cintra who is on the run from Nilfgaardian forces following the downfall of her kingdom.
The Witcher season 2 saw Geralt finally meeting Ciri and taking her to his home of Kaer Morhen, where Witchers are birthed and trained to fight monsters. While there, Geralt must prepare Ciri for the dangers ahead while also learning of her darker powers that could potentially throw the world into chaos. Meanwhile, Yennefer is revealed to have survived the Battle of Sodden and seeks to be freed from her imprisonment by elves and regain her powers.
