The Witcher season 3 certainly has a lot of high expectations to live up to, but it also needs to fix a problem with its side characters. Not only does it have to be as successful as seasons 1 and 2 and to please book and game fans alike, but it should not sideline compelling and interesting side characters. They should receive as much character development as Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), and Cirilla «Ciri» of Cintra (Freya Allan). Secondary characters from Jaskier (Joey Batey) to Nivellen (Kristofer Hivju) are just as much a part of the Continent, and they enrich the world of The Witcher.
Therefore, The Witcher season 3 should spend more time with its secondary characters instead of sidelining them to focus solely on the main characters. While there is nothing wrong with focusing on the trio at the center of the series, The Witcher season 3 will be even more compelling if all its characters are treated with equal respect. After all, the more well-developed a character is, the more audiences will connect with them, and the more characters viewers can connect with, the better. Stronger supporting characters will only draw viewers deeper into the world of The Witcher, having audience members genuinely involved in the story and its characters.
