Electronic Arts and DICE released Battlefield 2042 late last year and the game recently saw updates to its roadmap in order to give players an idea of when to expect content and fixes. One announcement included in DICE's updated roadmap for Battlefield 2042 is a delay to the beginning of Season 1.
Battlefield 2042 fans have been anticipating Season 1 since a March release date was leaked back in December, but now the initial season has been pushed back to the Summer. DICE hasn't confirmed when in the Summer Battlefield 2042 players will see the release of Season 1, but it suggested an early Summer release which may push it back to June or July. Battlefield 2042 won't receive Season 1 until the Summer, but DICE has confirmed some changes for the game in the meantime such as the addition of a Scoreboard, voice communication, and improved player profiles.

Battlefield 2042 Year 1 Pass holders have expected an earlier release of Season 1 due to the first year promises of DLC when buying the Gold and Ultimate Editions of the game. In an effort to give something to Battlefield 2042 fans looking forward to the first season, DICE confirmed in the updated Battlefield 2042 roadmap that these players will receive an exclusive bundle. The Steadfast Exclusive Legendary bundle includes a Zero Resistance skin for Battlefield 2042 Specialist Mackay, Grasshopper weapon skin, Rapid Hammer weapon skin, Iron Chariot vehicle skin, Rib Tickler melee weapon, Resolute player card background, and The Steadfast player card icon.
