The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is proving yet once more that it is, in fact, a timeless classic. This time, the reason it's being brought back up to relevancy is the release of an entirely new first-person perspective mod, possibly the best the game's had yet.

According to the mod's creator, Gervant's sole focus was always to deliver a fully-playable Geralt from a first-person perspective, revitalizing the game's core combat loop along the way, a niche that many other combat mods for The Witcher 3 already tackle. Combat rolls, for one, are outright removed (though optionally available) due to motion sickness concerns, and knockdown has been changed to stagger. Similarly, there's no more inertia to Geralt's movement, allowing players to switch direction at the drop of a dime. At the same time, however, some of the mod's features can exacerbate existing problems, such as The Witcher 3's Roach tilting into the ground.
Still, the final result is a surprisingly polished gameplay
