According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, the next installment in the Mass Effect RPG series may not arrive until 2029.
Despite the new teasers and key art released during this year's N7 Day, Grubb suggests the new Mass Effect title is still years away:
«This game is just nowhere near coming out. I was told that when they revealed Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2018, this is similar in terms of timeline. That was announced in 2018 and we're not getting that game until maybe next year. So now do the math for that, and we're talking 2029 for Mass Effect 5.»
It's been six years since Mass Effect: Andromeda released and 11 years since the original trilogy of games wrapped up with Mass Effect 3, so if Grubb turns out to be correct it'll be some wait before players get their hands on a new Mass Effect title.
It could be worse, though, fans of Vampire: the Masquerade: Bloodlines will have waited 20 years by the time the sequel releases next year.
Thankfully, those itching for a new BioWare RPG adventure may be able to sate themselves sooner rather than later as Grubb believes we'll see Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2024.
