After years of development and multiple delays, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum received a firm release date of May 25th. It now appears to be on track for the same, as a recent tweet confirms that the game has gone gold. Of course, the stealth action adventure will only be available for Xbox, PlayStation and PC, with the Nintendo Switch version coming later.
As a prequel to The Lord of the Rings, the story stars Gollum, who ventures through Middle-earth in search of the One Ring. He’ll encounter familiar characters like Gandalf the Grey and Shelob, newcomers like the Candle Man and explore locations like Mordor and Mirkwood.
Throughout the journey, Gollum must make different decisions, feeding into his brutal side or embracing Smeagol’s more merciful approach. Head here for a more extensive gameplay showcase of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Stay tuned for more details and updates in the coming weeks.
