From Software has released an Elden Ring update which introduces a significant new feature and seemingly points towards upcoming DLC for the game.
Headlining Elden Ring’s 1.07 patch is the introduction of separate damage scaling for PvP.
The new feature enables separate damage scaling for weapons, skills, spells and incantations when playing against other players.
“In the future, this feature may be used to balance weapons, Art, Spell, and Incantation in invading/PvP mode,” reads a post on publisher Bandai Namco’s website.
“Balance adjustments made within this feature will not impact single-player and cooperative play.”
The official patch notes detail a host of balance changes and bug fixes now available for players on PC and console platforms.
Following the update’s release, it was claimed that the patch includes references for new maps and ray tracing support.

“The latest update for Elden Ring adds menu strings related to ray tracing features,” tweeted modder Lance McDonald, who previously made a name for himself by releasing an unofficial patch that made From Software’s Bloodborne run at 60 frames per second on PS4.
“The update also includes references to two new maps that do not yet otherwise exist in the game data,” he claimed.
From Software has yet to officially announce plans for Elden Ring DLC, but expansions are all but confirmed following the game’s blockbuster success.
The critically acclaimed and award-winning title was released on February 25 and had shipped 13.4 million units worldwide by the end of March, according to Bandai Namco.
