The Last of Us TV series’ first footage has been shown
videogameschronicle.comThe first official footage from HBO’s TV adaptation of The Last of Us has been shown.
The footage, which consists of around 20 seconds of clips from the show, appears at the end of a new promo video advertising shows coming to HBO Max.
The show’s premiere date is not given – instead, the video simply says the show is “coming next year”.

In an appearance at the Summer Game Fest showcase in June, Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann confirmed that filming of the show was about to wrap up.
“Their last day of filming is tomorrow,” he said. “[Co-writer and Chernobyl creator] Craig [Mazin] is up there right now kind of wrapping it all up, so it’s pretty close, closer than you might think.”
“I really have to talk about Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey,” he added, “and not only directing them but seeing them do all the other episodes, they have thrown themselves at these roles for a whole year.
“Watching the nuance they bring to these characters, their relationship on and off camera, I couldn’t help but think about [game actors] Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson. It felt so similar to the chemistry those two actors had when we made the game.
“And it really feels like this is going to be something special and I will say, this will be the most authentic video game adaptation yet.”
The adaptation is the first television series from PlayStation Productions, a studio formed by Sony Interactive Entertainment to adapt its original game properties for film and TV.
It will cover the events of the first game and may include content based on The Last of Us Part 2.
