HBO just revealed the first official teaser for the upcoming The Last of Us TV series. The iconic cast of characters including Joel, Ellie, and Sarah can be seen in the trailer along with numerous other popular figures, heroes and villains alike.
In addition to this footage from The Last of Us, a few scenes from The Idol, Succession, The White Lotus, The White House Plumbers, Industry, and more can be seen in the trailer. “Now, this is my kind of dream,” the official Twitter account for HBO remarked.

"Everybody I have cared for has either died or left me," Ellie says in the teaser. "You have no idea what loss is," Joel can be heard replying. The scenes in the trailer include a number of well known moments from the game including Joel teaching Ellie how to shoot a gun.
HBO has not yet given a firm release date for The Last of Us, but according to the production company, fans of the franchise can expect the TV series to come out in 2023. The first season is apparently going to follow the original story, but will “deviate greatly” from the game on a few important points.
The Last of Us will follow a smuggler, Joel, as he escorts a teenager, Ellie, across a post-apocalyptic United States. The show is apparently also going to feature Tommy, his younger brother and a former soldier. The cast will be headed up by Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, and Gabriel Luna with Merle Dandridge, Jeffrey Pierce, and Anna Torn in recurring roles. The Last of Us was filmed in Calgary, Canada between July, 2021 and June, 2022.
