Actor Grant Gustin is reportedly in final negotiations to renew his contract for The Flash season 9. Gustin has played The Flash/Barry Allen since The Flash season one, which kicked off in 2014 on The CW, as part of the DC Arrowverse. The show was created by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff Johns, with the current showrunner being Eric Wallace. In addition to Gustin, the show stars Candice Patton, Jessie L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Jordan Fisher, Danielle Panabaker, and Kayla Compton.
The Flash is a superhero with immense superhuman speed and the ability to tap into the speedforce, a cosmic energy field that can interact with time itself. There have been many different variations of The Flash, although the current and most popular is the character of Barry Allen. Ezra Miller plays Allen in the DCEU feature film side, with the first solo film of The Flash set to debut later this year from director Andy Muschietti.

Now comes word (via Deadline) that Gustin is set to reprise the role for The Flash season 9, as he is said to be currently finalizing negotiations for his return. This would guarantee a ninth season for the series, making it the longest-running in CW's Arrowverse. Arrow finished its run on season 8, being the current record holder, but it appears The Flash will now pass the flagship show. Gustin's contract for The Flash season 9 is said to be capped at 15 episodes and for one year, making it a shorter run and potentially the last for the actor. Currently, Gustin's per-episode salary is believed to be over $200,000, and this new deal would see a sizable increase for his return.
