Warning: spoilers for Nightwing #91 are ahead.
The friendship between The Flash and Nightwing is among the strongest in DC Comics, and Wally West just proved that no one else hated Dick Grayson's «Ric Grayson» era more than him. Wally West and Dick Grayson have been close friends since their days on the Teen Titans, before they became their current iterations of The Flash and Nightwing as adults. Because the two heroes have known each other for so long, it would make sense that Wally would harbor deep resentment towards KGBeast, the villain responsible for nearly killing his best friend. But The Flash's appearance in a new issue of Nightwing shows that Wally hates KGBeast not only for his attempt on Dick Grayson's life, but also because of the immense fallout that occurred as a result of him shooting Nightwing in the head in Tom King and Tony S. Daniel's Batman #55.
The «Ric Grayson» storyline incomics spun out of a shocking moment when the KGBeast shot Nightwing in the head, leading him to lose all memory of who he was. While the Bat-Family tried to be supportive of him and wanted to help him remember who he was, the version of Dick that survived the gunshot was bitter, resentful, and wanted nothing to do with the people who said they were his family. Nightwing adopted the much-maligned name «Ric Grayson» and took up various jobs, trying to distance himself from his past superhero identity. While amnesia storylines can be powerful on their own, the «Ric Grayson» arc ballooned to twenty five issues across two years, spanning Nightwing #50 through #75. Nightwing is often referred to as the center of the DC Universe, and losing him for such a long period of time was deeply unpopular amongst fans.
