Development of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Skywind total conversion mod, which aims to remaster the third entry in the series by Bethesda with the fifth's engine, is proceeding smoothly, and the developers showed the progress that was made in a new livestream.
The 2023 recap livestream, which can be watched below, goes over what the team worked on in 2023, showing plenty of gameplay as well. While the total conversion mod is still far from release, it is undeniable that it is looking great already.
As Bethesda doesn't seem interested in remastering or remaking older entries in their popular series, fans were left with no choice but to do it themselves. Another development team is working on Skyblivion, a The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim total conversion mod that aims to remaster the fourth entry in the series. Compared to Skywind, the Oblivion unofficial remaster seems to be in a more advanced state of development, as it should be released sometime next year. Development of this mod started before it was learned that an official Oblivion remaster is in the works, so it will be interesting to see which will be released first, as the official remaster was supposed to be released in fiscal year 2022, according to a leak.
A release window for the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Skywind total conversion mod has yet to be announced. You can learn more about the project by joining its official Discord server. Those who wish to help with the project can also volunteer by heading over here.
