The Dead Space remake is now targeted to release in early 2023, according to a journalist.
Speaking on his premium Giant Bomb show GrubbSnax, transcribed by VGC, GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb, who had previously heard the game was aiming for an October release date, has now claimed the game’s target release date has moved to next year.
“It is now likely coming in 2023 it is no longer targeted for October, instead they are now targeting early 2023,” Grubb said, remarking that the internal delay is not surprising. He went on to say:
“They never said anything publicly, this was just my reporting saying internally what they were trying to do, and now they are not trying to do that, they are trying instead to go for early 2023.”
Grubb explained that the reasons for the delay are not a sign of the game being in trouble, rather than the team is extremely focussed on the quality of the remake.
“The reasons for that are myriad, there are plenty of them, mostly they want the game to be as good as possible.”

He went on to say: “They want to make sure that they don’t derail themselves. This is not a reflection of the game being in trouble.”
Grubb continued “They want to make sure this is very good because if it comes out and it’s a success it lays the groundwork for future success, a Dead Space remake has a really high ceiling in terms of how it could sell.”
Publisher EA has never publicly announced a release window for the game.
