Warning! Spoilers ahead for Carnage Forever #1
Marvel's new Carnage Forever confirms that Cletus Kasady has undergone a major change some fans might have missed following Marvel's massive King in Black crossover. While Carnage is one of Marvel's most murderous and sinister villains as a symbiote serial killer, the symbiote's classic host Cletus Kasady is no more (in a conventional sense). In a brand new and very unorthodox change to the status quo, Carnage is about to get a whole new array of powers due to a very surprising reason.
King in Black was preceded by 2019's Absolute Carnage. At the end of that event, Cletus Kasasy forced Venom to kill him in order to save Eddie Brock's son Dylan. However, this released Knull the Symbiote God from his prison which lead to his invasion. Seeing as how the Carnage symbiote is incredibly resilient and can be reborn from almost nothing, it was no surprise that it remerged following King in Black. In contrast, Cletus Kasady was very much dead thanks to Venom. While 2021's Extreme Carnage seemed to suggest that Carnage's new host was going to be an anti-alien politician, that was only temporary, so who's become Carnage's new host?

According to Carnage Forever #1 from Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Edgar Salazar, it's actually been revealed that Carnage no longer needs a host at all which is very surprising given the nature of symbiotes and their need to bond with living organisms to survive. However, Carnage reveals in this first issue that he and Cletus were bonded for so long and were such as perfect match that he no longer needs anyone else.
