Recently, there were reports that Kelly filed documents in February requesting a legal name change. Additionally, some reports claimed that Kelly requested to be regarded by her first and middle name, Kelly Brianne.
The American singer, who rose to fame after winning American Idol season 1 back in 2002, has had so much to deal with recently, from her new album to her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. The «Stronger» singer and Brandon finalized their divorce earlier this month. The former couple's divorce settlement stipulated that Kelly would give Brandon a little over $1.3 million in a one-time payment. In addition, Kelly will also pay Brandon $45,601 in monthly child support for their children, River Rose and Remington Alexander. The child support payments began on February 1, according to court documents.

While Kelly and Brandon were married, the music star never used her married name professionally, but it appeared on her documents. After the divorce, she decided to remove her married last name.
