Netflix has revealed the director and writer of the upcoming BioShock film adaptation.
In a tweet on the official Netflix account, the streaming giant announced that Francis Lawrence, director of I am Legend and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, will helm the film
The script will be written by Michael Green, who’s been credited with working on Logan, Blade Runner 2049 and American Gods.
No synopsis of the film has been made public, though the tweet’s accompanying image shows a Big Daddy, in an expanded version of the cover art from the first game, suggesting it will take place in Rapture rather than Columbia.

Netflix revealed in February that it was making a movie based on the IP, which hasn’t seen a new game since 2013’s BioShock Infinite. Little more is known about the project, however.
Netflix also announced today that The Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman is developing Netflix’s Horizon TV show, based on the PlayStation franchise.
Blackman is currently working on the fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy in addition to two new projects – Horizon and space thriller Oribital.
“Horizon Zero Dawn is an exceptionally well-crafted game with wonderful characters not often seen in the rank-and-file of the gaming world,” Blackman said. “Guerrilla Games has created an incredibly lush and vivid world of man and machine who find themselves on a collision course to oblivion.
