Chief Executive Officer of Gaming at Microsoft Phil Spencer just revealed that regular game sales are every bit as important for the Xbox as Game Pass. This of course comes in the wake of speculation that subscription services might just become a requirement for studios to succeed. "I often get asked by developers 'if I'm not in the subscription, am I just not viable on Xbox anymore?' It's absolutely not true," Spencer noted. "We look at retail. People selling games, buying games. It's an important part of our business.”
Streamers and other content creators on YouTube have been getting hit with copyright takedown requests for music and other media from Destiny 2 for several weeks now.
