Chanelle Howell, from Survivorseason 42 had an interview where she stated that she was «vilified» compared to the male players. Chanelle was voted off in the most recent episode of Survivor where she became the first member of the jury. Chanelle wasn't the most popular player in the game but her eviction was memorable as she was blindsided.
In season 42 of Survivor, Chanelle was one of 18 players vying for the chance to win one million dollars and become the Sole Survivor. She was regarded as a smart and strategic player by her fellow castmates but her journey was cut short when she was voted off by a vote of 7-3-1. Leading up to her eviction, Chanelle was targeted for her strategic gameplay and she lost trust with other players for casting a vote against Mike Turner. That move cost Mike to view her as sneaky and would ultimately lead her fellow players to lose trust in her when Mike told them what she did at the merge. Losing this trust would end up biting her in the end when was eliminated as the first jury member.

In an interview with EW, Chanelle talked about her gameplay and how when she made similar moves to her male castmates she was “vilified for it.” Chanelle also stated, “Why is it that women in the game make the exact same moves as men, but don’t get the same grace they do or don’t get the same leeway they do or are vilified in a different way?” The move she was referring to was when she cast a vote against Mike. Chanelle claims that Mike cast a vote to get rid of her the week prior so they should be even. “I did it for survival.
