A new tabletop game based on Matt Reeves' recent The Batman movie is available for pre-order. The game has been announced by Knight Models, who already have a long history with the DC universe, and is expected to feature many characters from the popular 2022 superhero thriller.
The Batman was released in cinemas and on HBO Max earlier this year to high critical and fan acclaim due to its more noir detective take on the character, which represented a side of the caped crusader that's always been present since his first appearance in Detective Comics, but has very rarely been depicted on the big screen. Knight Models are no strangers to the DC Universe and is known for its signature game Batman Miniatures Game, which plays much like a traditional miniatures skirmish game such as Warhammer: Underworld or Star Wars: X-Wing. For these games, players use dice and measuring tools to complete objectives across a terrain-covered tabletop with different models having more nuanced rules, bringing a variety of options and tactics to the game. As well as bringing established Batman villains such as Mr. Freeze or Bane to the title, Knight Models have expanded out further into the DC Universe over the years, with recent models based on DC movies The Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman 1984, and DC's zombie comic DCeased.
