Keywords Edmonton QA staff form industry's second union

QA staff at Keywords Edmonton have voted to form a union.

As reported by Polygon, the 16 employees in its quality assurance team – who work with BioWare – have voted unanimously to create a union. The Alberta Labour Board counted the votes.

In a post on its website, Keywords said that it accepts the decision.

"Keywords Studios accept the vote of the 16 Edmonton staff who have chosen to unionize," the company said.

"We value our people and will continue to constantly strive to be a good employer. As an organization we want to ensure an engaging experience for all of our employees, and we take any concerns that our staff have seriously. We will continue to have an ongoing dialogue with all individuals in the Edmonton team, as we move forward together, always learning and improving."

Word that Keywords staff at BioWare were looking to start unionising broke in April of this year. It comes hot on the heels of QA staff at Activision Blizzard's Raven Software voting to create the games industry's first union last month.
